{UAH} If your brother or sister has illegally grabbed land or family property from you
If your brother or sister has illegally grabbed land or family property from you:
1. First lodge a caveat to stop him from selling as u go to court. You are allowed to put caveat on someone's property if ure a beneficiary. A caveat is not only registeted by the registered proprietor but any one with caveatable interest. You can claim interest citing circumstances under which the land or property in question was registered in his or her names. you don't need to have your name on the land title to have a caveatable interest. For instance, you can put a caveat on your late father's estate if the heir wants to sell it off. Even an outsider can put a caveat on your land so long as you have issues.
2. SEEK LEGAL COUNSEL- Get a honest lawyer and Get letters of LC that show you have been residing there
3. Try to speak to that person diplomatically, and see if you can resolve issues outside the court. Under the laws of Uganda, there is a principle that is called "indefeasibility of title." And basically what it means is that a person registered on a title is the owner of the title and you cannot challenge his title save in incidents were you prove fraud. If the tittle was not obtained by fraud, then am afraid it's conclusive and indefeasible. However, tittles can be revoked.
