Good Samaritan plans to sue teenage girl for $1million after she LIED about him demanding sexual favours when he helped fix her car – costing him his job, his wife and landing him in jail

  • Kenan Basic stopped to help a 19 year old woman with her car at service station
  • Caitlyn Gray, 20, had a broken-down car and Mr Basic spent two hours fixing it
  • They hugged and he followed her a short distance to make sure she was alright
  • Days later Gray claimed Mr Basic stalked her and indecently assaulted her
  • Mr Basic spent two weeks in prison, lost his job and is going through a divorce
  • All charges were dropped against him after woman admitted to lying

A Good Samaritan whose life was ruined when a woman falsely accused him of sexual assault will sue her for $1 million.

Caitlyn Gray, 20, told police she was stalked, harassed, and eventually assaulted by Kenan Basic in Bankstown, Sydney, in November 2018.

The married father-of-one vehemently denied the allegations, but spent two weeks inside Silverwater jail in Sydney's west before Gray confessed she made it up.

Mr Basic, 36, lost his job over Gray's allegations and is now in the process of getting divorced.

He will front court next month demanding police pay $15,000 in legal bills he accumulated defending himself, and told 7 News he would sue Gray for $1 million.

Gray alleged he demanded sexual favours and when denied groped her vagina and breasts after he helped fix her car when she pulled up to a BP petrol station after a crash.

'I always helped people, you know, all my life... and this is the first time the snake bit me,' he said earlier this week.

Gray, now 20, pleaded guilty in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday to lying about the assault.

Her mum stood by her as her lawyer Sabbagh Suliman asked to have the case adjourned long enough to obtain a psychological report, news.com.au reported.

Mr Basic previously said he was grateful to be free after all charges were dropped last Monday, but was now hesitant to help strangers.

Grey pulled into a BP service station after she had a minor car accident and met Mr Basic, who spent almost two hours helping get her car back on the road.

CCTV captured the interaction between the pair, but Gray told police he followed her after she drove away.

Mr Basic admitted he did follow her, but claimed he did so to ensure her car didn't break down again.

Gray, who was 19 at the time, claimed Mr Basic propositioned her for sex in return for fixing her car before forcing himself on her.

'No-one would ever expect that as a Good Samaritan you stop to assist a broken down motorist that then you would subsequently be charged with these serious offences,' Mr Basic's lawyer Mona El Baba previously said.

Gray will be sentenced on one count of knowingly making a false or misleading statement on June 25.
