{UAH} RIP PROF. APOLLO NSIBAMBI

Regardless of political affiliation, the whole country can agree that there are very few people today who can claim the level of character and integrity as the late former Prime Minister Apollo Nsibambi (RIP). Yet he has served his country in many capacities from the 1970's, rising up to Prime Minister where he served until 2011.

He remained a humble man and reportedly even continued serving his country quietly in retirement.

There are very few such examples of humility, excellence and commitment to service in today's society which has descended to applauding arrogant fraudsters, dubious individuals with questionable riches, and corrupt criminals, while seeing such honest dedicated public servants as "fala" (stupid).

Yet here we are today all coming together to say goodbye to a truly good man who has lived to his principles and lived by example until the end despite the treacherous political environment that we all know. Not a single taint on his name even with some known background attempts to corrupt him while he was Prime Minister. Trust me it requires a spirit of metal to stay simple, down to earth and on the right course while surrounded by highly tempting depravity.

The late Apollo Nsibambi is probably the last Ugandan leader of this creed in this new millenium.

May God Almighty rest his soul in eternal peace amongst the righteous, and may he be a light of example to the upcoming young generation of Ugandan leaders, especially those who think that leadership and service is about ones turn to "eat".
