Once again this research study is completely wrong. I think it is the anti-alcohol brigade who keep churning out such bogus statistics as a strategy of frightening people to stop drinking. Surely no person in their right mind would compare the rate of alcoholism in countries like Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, and  Russia with the UK. In fact, the UK is also unique because drinking alcohol has completely disappeared amongst the young- it is mainly the over 50s who drink. The anti-alcohol brigade should try new methods of getting people off the bottle. Issuing bogus study after bogus study makes many people suspect their researchers are all under the influence when they write their reports.
