{UAH} WHAT DOES THE PEOPLE POWER TOYOTA TUNDRA REPRESENT?
Ugandan Youths See It As A Modern Day Powerful Symbol of Their Struggle For Freedom, Equality, Justice and Liberation From Museveni's Dictatorship. But Parked At Arua Police Station, It Also Depicts a Rogue Museveni Regime Surviving on Lies, Banditry, Patronage, Corruption, Bribery, Treachery, Heartless Murder and Impunity.
As Uganda's political situation unfolds in the media, I noticed that only one of our political analysts has managed to produce a proper analysis of the serious criminal dilemma that Museveni faces with the People Power Toyota Tundra vehicle. Surprisingly, it is the same dilemma he faces with the people power movement itself. Also the same dilemma that Uganda faces with him (Museveni) and his clinging to power for almost four decades now.
Many have worriedly pondered what will happen next? But they are clearly lazy cowards or lack the IQ to dwell on guaranteeing a peaceful, prosperous Uganda with or without Museveni.
However, the new generation is prepared to embrace a brand new future without being held hostage by the country's so-called historicals who have for decades used a certain narrative of fear to suppress political competition to Museveni. A narrative which actually only served to keep themselves in power and thus enabling them to continue plundering state coffers with impunity while promoting themselves mostly as tin-pot generals and tin-pot elites in a tin-pot democracy and their tin-pot corruption-infested economy.
Meanwhile, Museveni cannot give back the People Power Tundra vehicle to its owner because it is part of crime scene evidence in the death of Yassin Kawuma (RIP), driver of Bobi Wine (aka Honourable MP Robert Kyagulanyi).
The late Mr. Kawuma was murdered while seated inside this vehicle.
In probable cowardice, state agents including Museveni himself, also do not want to keep the vehicle under their own custody because the murder was committed publicly by Museveni's bodyguards who are currently walking with impunity for this heinous crime. Actually no case has been opened, investigated or prosecuted in the murder of Mr. Kawuma. Meaning that the detention of the vehicle is simultaneously both functionally legal and judicially illegal if there is no police case opened in the disturbing death of Yassin.
It is safe to assume that they are stuck on what to do next. Maybe the hope is that lets it stay there long enough until people have forgotten about it, and then find a way to dispose of it spare part after spare part over five years for example, until only a rusty bare chasis remains at the spot.
Museveni murdered a young father. Kawuma was shot at point blank range and left to die in a pool of his own blood while Museveni's soldiers guarded the vehicle armed to the teeth and in their battle SFC uniform as the vehicles headlamps remained on all night where it had stopped right in the middle of the road. On the evening of August 13th 2018, from an unknown hiding place, Honourable Bobi Wine published the gruesome photo of the murder saying: "Police and SFC have just killed my driver thinking it was me".
For the record, the vehicle is a US style left-hand drive, while Uganda security is used to the country's British right-hand drive system. The state assassins must have thought that the young MP was driving himself as usual while seated in the right front seat.
In the history of Uganda, after the harrowing tales and pictures of human skulls and human remains, victims of the infamous Luweero genocide caused by Museveni and Obote, the killing fields of Congo where 6 million were slaughtered by Museveni and Kagame, those of Northern Uganda which saw an estimated one million Acholi's butchered over two decades (1986-2006) by Museveni and Kony, and more recently the pictures of the brutal barbarity that unfolded during the 2016 Kasese Massacre on Museveni's direct orders via mobile phone, this humble Toyota Tundra vehicle is now yet another museum piece to add not only to the disturbing list of stark evidence of the evil, cunning and hatred harbored by Yoweri Museveni against the people of this country and his political opponents, the vehicle is a unique, important time capsule of his appalling human rights record and murderous viciousness in the history of Uganda, including on the new generation of young Ugandans.
A reminder that ever since dictator Obote first gave him a pistol in the 1960's, Museveni was ready to do anything to get to power and to cling to power, now for over three and a half decades. Even if it meant murdering with impunity millions of his own people and his political opponents.
Today, the single biggest obstruction to a peaceful, free, normal and thriving Ugandan economy, national sovereignty, and genuine democracy is Mr. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni himself.
For the youths of Uganda, the hope could be that the People Power Tundra will one day become a monument parked atop a more deserving pedestal than Arua police station. Maybe a new modern Freedom monument at city square gardens for innocent children to play in. A generational reminder that Uganda must and can move on with each new generation despite the sad memory of all those who suffered abuse, torture and grave injustices at the hands of the Museveni regime for the last 40 years. Including many loosing their lives and their relatives in the purported struggle for justice, equality, freedom and national liberation which in the end turned out to simply usher in the Museveni dictatorship after the bloody Obote II tyranny, and now many young Ugandan men and women waking up to restart the struggle for that very same national liberation unattained to this day because of the highly treacherous Museveni dictatorship.
God bless the future of Uganda.
