{UAH} Wives should be the ones receiving their husband’s salary - Pastor

Alan Barigye,/Ikanos

Can this happen in Uganda- of wives collecting salaries? It is a long tradition in the Philippines, especially with the low paid working class. It is a very common sight at the end of the month to find women queuing   infront of  offices or  in a factory waiting to pick up their husbands salaries. The women  take care of the family finances, and allow the husbands only pocket money from time to time in the course of the month.. I used to give my wife $1,000 per month- which was a lot of money at the time - in fact more than top civil servants earned  in a country with a GDP of $ 3000 pa- at the time it was only about $600. pa.. But I dont know if it would ever work in Uganda- Filipino marriages tend to be more stable and are generally enterred into for life.- Filipina women also have a very powerful position in the social structure of Philippines society- in fact women are the heads of Filipino families- without a mother, a Filipino family will never survive.
