  In my culture, The BAKIGA would kill any girl for getting pregnant before marriage. The killing would bring together the whole clan in a ceremony that would be performed on top of a river fall near Kisiizi Hospital. 
  The brother of a pregnant girl would perform the killing role by physically pushing her down into the water falls. People would then walk back into their homes with great satisfaction of having accomplished the punishment mission while they wait for the next culprit.

  Men and women would attend to witness the killing. Girls would attend to learn that the same fate awaits them if at all they are to commit the same crime. At that time, there was no family planning, no contraceptives, no condoms etc. Sleeping with a man meant 90% chances of getting pregnant. Therefore, it was turbo for a girl to sleep with a man before marriage. 
  Many Girls were helplessly killed untill one defiant girl clung to her brother's hand and they drowned together. Its just after the death of an "innocent" boy that people opened their eyes. The injustice, inhuman and primitive act against girls then attracted condemnation. It was rejected till it stopped. 
  More unfair and unjust Cultural norms are still with us and we must reject them.
