{UAH} Finland’s Left Turn

The rise of the nationalist, far right in Europe where  fascist and neo-nazi parties won power in Austria, Hungary and Holland, and are sharing power in Sweden, seems to have been halted. The performance of the far right party in government in Austria was truly disastrous and a very sober awakeing and  warning to people in Europe who had hoped the far right can run a government.  The far right  in Austria  government  collapsed after a mere two years. because of massive corruption of the leaders who were also revealed to be drunken louts with no clue about governance. Last week, the socialists were elected in Iceland, and Denmark and yesterday they have also come back to power in Finland after decades.

 I always thought the far right would be quickly found out as truly dangerous fascists and lunatics who should not be anywhere near the wheels of  power.. The likes of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage will also be quickly found out in the UK because they are corrupt, intellectually inept, and have no ideas to address the challenges facing the country apart from parroting on and on about Brexit,  They offer no hope to the country.

 The socialists made very serious mistakes in countries like Germany and Sweden by failing to deal effectively with Muslim migration and they have paid a heavy price- in Germany specifically where the left has been wiped out. But elsewhere in Europe, the left is on the rise again. All this is thanks to the Labour Party and to Jeremy Corbyn particularly. We are the ones now who are leading the left in Europe and in fact we are leading the left in   the whole world.. This is a very humble responsibility.
