Minister Nantaba Charged with Murder, Giving False Information

State minister for ICT and National guidance Hon Aida Nantaba has been charged with murder and giving false information before Mukono Chief magistrate court.

According to the charge sheet arising from criminal case no 0153 of 2019 and dated 25th June 2019, Hon Nantaba is charged as A1 along side Police officers Opira Ronald, Baganza Ronald and Edward Cherotich.

Hon Natanba and co accused are charged under S.42 (1) (c), (3), (5) and (6) MCA CAP 16 and the statement of the offense reads.

Murder contrary to section 188 and 189 of the penal code act where Nantaba Idah Erios, PC Opira Ronald, PC Baganza Ronald and PC Edward Cherotich on the 24th day of March 2019 at Nagojje trading center in mukono district with malice Aforesought unlawfully caused the death of sebulime Ronald.

Hon Nantaba is also charged with giving false information to a person employed in public service contrary to section 115 of the penal code where the charge sheet states that on the 24th day of march 2019 at Nagalama police station in Mukono district, she gave false information to officers of Uganda police force that the late sebulime Ronald was armed and after her life which led to unlawful death of their person.

Two weeks back this website broke a story on how the family of late Ronald Sebulime petitioned the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mike Chibita to charge Hon Nantaba with murder.

Sebulime was murdered on March 24 at Nagojje trading center in Mukono as he was heading to visit his children at St Andrew Kagwa Primary School in Mukono.
