The word "oba" means klng. It was originally a term for a person who mastered themselves. Its etymology is from a contraction of ori-baba (which became o-ba). The word ori-baba means "father of the mind." This term was referring to someone who became the father of his mind, i.e., master of self. The word ori means mind but also means destiny, and so one can also say the ori-baba means father of (one's own) destiny....
