{UAH} Former IGP Kisembo is dead

Folks;

As obituaries in our newspapers go, this one, for the fallen former Inspector-General of Police, John Kisembo, is more detailed than any I've read in years. The writer took his time to piece together a lengthy account of Kisembo's life, from primary school. I appreciate this level of pertinent details in an obituary.

However, all we are offered here is a litany of the jobs Kisembo held; there is no report on his accomplishment.

Obit writing is like resume writing: you briefly touch on the subject's bio, but spend the rest of the writing on achievement.

In Kisembo's case, his obit would have been more informative had it told us about any major institutional changes that he effected during his two-year stint as head of the Police Force.  Moreover, as former senior Special Branch spy, Kisembo must have worked on high profile cases that saved lives, or at least, protected the country from bad elements: What are some of those cases?

His police graduating class included some names who have been deeply involved in national security service in the last 35 years: Jim Muhwezi, David Tinyefunza, Cossy Odomel, etc. Yet, the reporter did not bother to get a single comment from the personalities.

This obit needs to be redone, in form of a eulogy commentary.
