While his name may not rings a bell to many, Edward Athiyo was a gentle giant in both Karamoja and national affairs. 

He's among the few Ugandans to have served in both Amin administration and post-Amin governments. While Omwony Ojwok was a better known son of Karamoja, Edward Athiyo held higher government positions.
