{UAH} Law student profile – Muk Law society

Nakasinde AliceMary , 20 years,

I am a Ugandan Law student from Makerere Univesity located in Kampala , Uganda capital.

As part of Makerere Law society I had the privilege of being assigned as the new IGG of the Makerere Law Society (MLS) 2019/2020.

The role of the IGG in the MLS is stipulated in the MLS constitution article 44 to include; ensuring adherence to the constitution, eliminate corruption, abuse of authority and office of the executive and to publish statements of account after every event organised by the executive and at the end of
their tenure of office.

 I intend to ensure that these roles spelt out in our constitution are enforced by providing accountability of resources in which case every member of the cabinet will submit a report on how they are utilizing their resources and these reports will be compiled to provide an update on the activities of the society for transparency which breeds legitimacy and trust.

Discipline is also an important virtue that I intend to uphold while serving the great society .

Between goals and accomplishments and I hope that the MLS cabinet is able to meet the expectations of the society.

In future I long to see more ladies taking up leadership positions such as these considering that the MLS Cabinet 2019/2020 is largely constituted by women which in my opinion is a great achievement. I also hope to become
efficient, understanding, acknowledge my worth, ask for it, know what I want, hustle for it, innovate ,stay true to myself and most of all help those in need.

I am humbled and honored for the opportunity that I was given; I look to enrich my experience as a law student and complement my skills as a new leader or future leader as I contributed with a piece myself.
