{UAH} Mr. Pojim: in your long month stay in uganda what did you observe that stands out?

Mr. Pojim:

Having spent a month in Uganda what did you observe that is significant apart from politics?  Have peoples behaviour changed towards risky activities such as unprotected sex? Are cheap lodges and motels dead or doing brisk business?

Did you see any family planning structures in place? What is the uptake among women in case? What is the attitude of men towards family planning? Are Ugandan beginning to embrace quality over quantity in the size of their families? Did you observe any systematic urban planning in some form?

what are some of the glaring failures or omissions of the YKM reign? Put differently what are YKM;'s misses and hits?  What should YKM have done but was left undone and may be the critical factors in explaining the ate of affairs  in Uganda today?

Did you  sense that YKM/NRM has challenged Ugandans to do something positive apart from whining while producing too many children and still expecting  decent jobs and god quality of life? If not, did you notice  YKM DELIBERTAELY  looked the other way to buy peace and votes? That is has YKM opted for indifference  in order to appease Ugandans instead of leading them to do the tough lifting? Is that why you said he will easily win the next elections and do so without much violence?

Uganda is not like Rwanda so peasants and elite can talk. What are some of the wishes people shared with? For example, what do they wish YKM/NRM should have done over the past 33 years now to tiger a real transformation of Ugandan society? I say real because transformation has  happened but what type of transformation is it?

Did you get  a sense Ugandans understand the impact of disruptive innovations? If they do did you see or hear about or witness  such disruptive innovations ? Where? In what sectors etc.  In others words did you see positive signs amidst the chaos or indifference somewhere? If so what was it?

What if any did you hear following  your interactions with teenagers? Hopeful, resilient, desperate , resigned etc.?  If those youth were given the opportunity to compete ain national completion entitled: the Ugandan we want, what sort of issues may they put forward.

For the benefit of the YKM generation and those born after the fall of Amin, such a question was actually put to the then youth-us- in 1979  in a national writing competition. .

The best essay according to the judges was written by  Mr. Richard Obella-Obbo -young brother of Mr. Onyango-Obbo-then of  Kings College Budo.
