OPINION: Uganda perhaps needs own brand of democracy called 'Musevenocrazy'

It beats my understanding whenever Museveni, the long time illegitimate president of Uganda; stands on his feet, in oversized suit hanging on his body, the brimmed hat hiding the old age and haggardness on his face- starts lecturing about democracy! The septuagenarian dictator in his known staccato he belches that Uganda is a democratic country. What a joke from the senile man in the hat!

This is the dictator, who moves across the country, in a motorcade of a hundred armored vehicles, mobile toilet, bullet proof cage, bags of money dishing out to whoever comes to him kneeling and ready to move under his malodorous armpits. Who ever swears an oath of allegiance, subservience to him and promises to vouch continuously for his impunity walks away with a bundle of money.

This is the same person who incarcerates his opponents during campaigns and releases them on the day of elections and again arrests them when vote counting begins. So one wonders which type of democracy this knackered dictator talks about?

This dictator whose age is not known, neither his origin bribes parliament which has majority members from his party to create laws that keeps him in power. Is it not irony that a man who preaches democracy bribes his stay in power? When he saw that he had exhausted his terms in office, he bribed members of parliament and they amended the constitution and paved away for him to seek another term in office.

When age caught him up, as our constitution pronounced that seventy five years is the maximum age for anyone to vie for presidency, he again bribed his parliament and they amended the constitution to give him way such that he contests again in 2021. This is despicable for someone to preach democracy and practices demo-crazy.

Museven's continued mockery of western democracy calls for the Ugandan brand of democracy which is a corruption of the American or European democracy and we must name it Musevenocrazy after the inventor Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. With this Musevenocrazy introduced in Uganda officially, the opposition parties will not complain when they are denied a voice. It will be okay for Dr Kizza Besigye and Hon Kyagulanyi Sentamu to be picked whenever they practice their constitutional right of having opposing views against impunity. With Musevenocrazy brand of democracy, no opposition member will be hosted on television and radio talk shows. Only members of the ruling party shall be allowed to move around the country speaking on radios and carrying out campaigns.

You know that a dictator has outlived his usefulness when he starts picking up whoever criticizes his madness, arrests whoever becomes popular and is on the opposing side yet the he is surrounded by thieves and murderers who have terrorized Uganda for decades. You know, every person who dies due to shortage of medicine in the hospitals we blame the regime. Why should hospitals lack medicine because of the thieves that steal them and sell them in their private hospitals and leaders cannot do anything yet when a person like Dr Stella Nyanzi or Joseph Kabuleta goes against such madness you pick him up? In every democracy, people must have a freedom of expression. It is a social contract where we hire leaders through an election and when they do otherwise, we must criticize them unsparingly. Any leader must understand that no citizen elsewhere in the world can pay taxes and watch as it is shared among a small clique of thieves and again trump on their right to freedom of expressing their grievances.

My dear Museveni, you are the worst president Uganda has ever had and the evidence is overwhelming! Because Ugandans have tolerated you for all this long, do not take our silence for granted and hence more of madness. The signal is clear, if you cannot stay away from 2021 elections, i am afraid your end and your kin and kith will be worse.
