{UAH} Smoking to be ended in the UK by 2030, leaked proposal reveals
The UK is doing very well in combating Substance Abuse. It aims to end smoking altogether by the year 2030. It also seems to have won the war against alcohol abuse, which used to be a major problem. It is the only country in the world where the percentage of young people under 30 years who drink alcohol has fallen cumulatively over the last 20 years, with almost 50-60% of this age group reporting being alcohol abstinent.. The age group that predominantly consumes alcohol is the over 50s.. More than a quarter of Britain's pubs have closed their doors since the turn of the millennium, according to "shocking" official figures The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said the number of pubs had fallen from 52,500 in 2001 to 38,815, with landlords on the outskirts of major cities most likely to have called last orders for the final time..Drugs still remain a problem though, and is likely to remain the biggest challenge in the years to come.
