1) China has a separate calendar which is called the Chinese calendar. It is a lunar calendar and the first day of the year 2020 in China is actually going to be 25 January.
2) Chinese people represent the year with animals. These animals are 12 and include some weird names like rats and rabbits. In fact 2019 is the year of the pig in China, so if you asks Chinese what year it is, be ready for a surprise.
3) Ancient Chinese soldiers used to wear armour made of paper. They so much trusted their kungfu that they believed it made them invisible, that belief has quickly vanished since the advent of guns and bombs.
4) Ice cream originated from China in 2000BC, in fact a 7th dynasty emperor of China had 94 ice men who were dedicated to making him ice cream everyday.
5) The Chinese language consists of 40,000 characters and school children are expected to know 2000 of it. Imagine memorizing 2000 alphabets.
6) In China, cricket fights is a common means of amusement among school children.
7) In China, white is the color of mourning. So if you risk looking like a fool if you attend a funeral in China with black clothes.
8) China is believed to be the worlds longest living civilization.
9) Over 20 million trees in China are cut down every year to make chopsticksđđ
