The difference between Trump and Obama in two photos
In December 2012, Barack Obama had to deal with one of the most tragic events of his Presidency,
Twenty six people, including 20 children aged between six and seven, were killed as a result of the Sandy Hook massacre.
Obama gave an impassioned response in a speech following the incident, twice having to stop and wipe away tears.
When unveiling gun control measures in January 2016, Obama once again shed tears.
Only yesterday, Obama's former White House photographer Pete Souza shared a picture of the former President alone in a classroom at Sandy Hook before meeting attending a vigil.
The most recent high school shooting in America has prompted a different response from the current President.
Donald Trump visited victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida two days after Wednesday's massacre, which claimed 17 lives.
Trump reportedly spent just 35 minutes in the hospital and visited only two victims. He has been heavily criticised for his unsympathetic demeanour in photographs, where he grinned and gave the thumbs up.
The stark contrast between Obama and Trump's reaction to the tragedies, which were both similar in nature, hasn't gone unnoticed on Twitter.
Trump was also pictured at a party at his Mar-A-Largo complex in Florida just hours after visiting the victims.
