{UAH} Journalusts boycott DP press briefing over Mao's lateness

Folks;

Kudos to these journalists who walked out of a Democratic Party weekly press conference because the party president was, once again, late. Of all capitals available to journalists in particular, and all humans in general, time is the most precious and nonrenewable.

Journalists work around deadlines: a newscast is set for a specific time, or a reporter must turn in a copy by a specific time.

Sloths like Mao drain the professionalism out of journalists, and then turn around and question why they don't get adequate press coverage.

I had a serious fallout with former powerful Kenyan minister, Nicholas Biwott in the late 1980's; the earliest he would appear at his own press conferences would be two hours past the due start time.

One day, tired of waiting for Total Man, I walked out just as he was entering the conference room. I told my editors about Biwott's annoying habit, and lucky for me, they backed me up, when Biwott called them to cast me out!

They even wrote an editorial imploring government officials to keep time, for the same of development. Ugandan editors must similarly admonish government and party officials for their perpetual tardiness.
