Monica Okoth to be 'cleansed' before inheritance-Luo elders

The widow of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth, Monica, will have to be cleansed before she is inherited by Okoth's Elder brother, Luo elders have said.

Luo Council of Elders Chairman Nyandiko said that Monica should visit Okoth's native home in Homa Bay for cleansing rituals. According to the Luo culture , cleansing involves engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse with a 'cleanser' who is a non-relative of the deceased husband.

The elders said cleansing is mandatory in order to remove the impurity, the widow is believed to have acquired from the death of her husband, Ken Okoth. 
Monica Okoth is expected to be inherited by 
by one of the Okoth's brothers or close relative. 
Several luo men have offered to be cleansers of the white lady
