  Is it  not against American law for a president to lobby for his own business interests- the conflict of interest principles- come to mind?

In the UK, the Prime Minister would be impeached if he brought up his business interests in a meeting or negotiations he is handling as head of government. A prime minister must divest himself of all his business interests for the entire duration he is prime minister.
