{UAH} Uganda Breastfeeding again

Uganda eri mukuyonka mabeere ga basosozze.

 Oh, Uganda!

 

·         Unemployment > 75%; about 400,000 youths are released annually into the job market to compete for ~ 10,000 jobs.

·         Out of 43 million people only 2.5 million pay taxes à collapse of the payroll taxes.  The Diaspora annual remittance of ~ USD 1.4billion is very helpful

·         40% of Uganda budget is financed by donors

·         80% of GDP comes from the Central Region; the rest of the country contributes less than 25% to the GDP.   Out of the 80%, 85% comes from Kampala and Wakiso

·         Government invests only 2% annually

·         Servicing debt -80 cents/dollar!  Uganda can't survive without borrowing.

·         More than 65% of the population depends on subsistence farming and living below the poverty level.

 

No wonder some people call those places shitholes!
