Musician turned Politician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine's People Power camp has been dealt a huge blow after one of their ardent supporters and advocators Ashburg Kato reportedly defected to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), led by President Yoweri Museveni.
Word on the grapevine is that Ashburg, who was until recently one of the most popular bloggers for People Power politicians and Bobi Wine, is currently a proud member of the NRM and is these days wearing the yellow beret as opposed to the People Power red beret.
Our Spy reveals that Ashburg got so pissed after the recent appointments in People Power in which Bobi Wine appointed several people to various offices but never appointed him, yet he thought he would take the office of Spokesperson.
Bobi Wine instead appointed Joel Senyonyi as Spokesperson, something that did not amuse Ashburg, because he had previously been doing a lot of online publicity and campaigns for Bobi Wine and People Power.
It is thus said that just like Full Figure and other disgruntled People Power diehards did, Ashburg also crossed to NRM and our Spy intimated to us last night that he inked a juicy deal with a high ranking army officer to denounce People Power and Bobi Wine activities.
It all happened some time last year when word spread around that Ashburg had been kidnapped, or arrested, only for him to resurface a few days thereafter.
It is not surprising that Ashburg is these days distancing himself from Bobi Wine and People Power activities yet he was previously very active about spreading the same on social media in the recent past. Watch this space!
