{UAH} India is the second largest English speaking population

Our journey across Asia continues today as we look closely at one of the oldest nations in the world, India. The name may ring a bell for a few UAH fans bit what to you really know about this wonderful nation called India? Here are some interesting facts about India.

1) India is the second largest English speaking population, second only to the US. India has over 125 million English speakers, ranking them above even England and other parts of Britain.

2) India is the world's largest producer of milk. With over 132.4 metric tons of milk produced yearly, it becomes easy to understand why a lot of Indians can't go a day without milk.

3) A lot of people are familiar with this but let us point it out again. India has the world's second largest population with over 1.3billion inhabitants, second only to China of course.

4) India, Pakistan and Bangladesh all used to be the same country until the British colonization. Once British rule was over, India was split into the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Later, an area between India and Pakistan became the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

5) The national symbol for India is the Bengal Tiger. It is believed that using it as a national symbol will prevent the animal, which is already endangered, from going extinct.

6) A lot of inventions have been recorded in India. Some of the most notable inventions are The Zero, Buttons, Cotton cultivation, chess, shampoo, binary code, fiber optics, ayurvedic medicine, yoga, ruler, and radio/wireless communication.

7) India has the world's youngest population with over half their populace falling under the age of 25. That means over 500million persons under the age of 25, wow!

8) India has over 254 languages and 22 official languages, the highest ever.

9) In India, there are about 51 births every minute. No wonder they have over 1billion citizens.

10) India is also the world's largest producer of tea and spices which some of us cannot do without.
