The governor acknowledged the fraudulent transfer following an investigation and subsequent recommendation by the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ).
The investigations uncovered that two properties – Thika Municipality/BlockXI/877 and Thika Municipality/BlockXI/878 were transferred to Nyatu in a process facilitated by the governor. Following Waititu's admission that he illegally transferred the land, CAJ Chairperson Florence Kajuju handed over the title deeds back to Mbugua.
