{UAH} On climate change
On climate change
By Timothy Kalyegira
-- Worrying about climate change has become 21st Century humanity's religion.
It is a secular religion that believes that the increasingly unpredictable weather and change in the earth's climate are caused primarily by irresponsible human activity.
Campaigns, conferences and policies to halt or reduce this human activity, from industrial chemicals to diesel and petrol vehicles, coal plants and so on, are now the main activity of this mainly Western religion.
Some of us "climate deniers" are skeptical.
We don't believe mankind is the cause, or the main cause, of climate change.
Huge deserts formed across the earth's surface thousands of years ago, long before there were enough human beings to cut down trees or any diesel trucks and petrol cars and polluting factories to change the earth's climate.
Humans do NOT cause climate change, is what I'm trying to say.
Even if we were to plant ten billion trees, go green, ban all carbon fuel cars and use only solar and wind energy, if the climate is to change, it will.
Just as it suddenly changed 4,000 years ago and resulted in the formation of the Sahara and other deserts.
