{UAH} Real Estate, Poor Traders and being Good
Hajji Kasoma was one of the richest trade in Luweero - in 1974 he
built a storied house which still stands to date.
Real Estate is Residential, Industrial and Commercial buildings. The
construction sector is the most expansive sector of any economy
anywhere in the world.
Notice that in Uganda there are a handful of people who can build
standard homes and commercial buildings.
My uncle dead now, was the first to have a cement building in Kiwoko
in 1978 out of his commercial trade businesses. He died in 1980 before
he could complete the building. and indeed nothing much has change in
Kiwoko!
Uganda small towns today, virtually all of them need commercial
buildings for renting.
In places like Mutukula, Oraba, Nimule (Alegu), Busia where there
massive export of all kinds of items. Investing in industrial
buildings (stores, bonded houses, silos) can earn one some good
monthly income.
As I get aged, I have discovered investing in dry and cold storage
facilities now that one can reduce electricity costs to zero by
deploying off-grid solar panels is an ideal business model.
A small city where I lived for 11 years, in Sweden has really
surprised me. Here they have buildings from 1400-1500. But year after
year, major plans on council agenda are to build more community homes,
commercial and industrial builds.
That is 600 hundred years down the road and there is not enough buildings!
