Kenyan Taxman demands a whopping K.Shs 125 Million ( US$1.2 Million) from marathon Runner Eliud Kipchoge's K.Shs 400 M ( US$4 Million) purse.. That's a quarter of his earnings, yet the Kenyan government makes no contribution to his year long training costs and expenses.. Looks like daylight robbery to me, and a massive dis-incentive to the development of professional athletics in the country. That's why some athletes register themselves as domiciled abroad to avoid punitive taxes at home.
