{UAH} Fwd: Funeral of Anthony Isanzu, Woolwich, London.
Dr Georges/Annette,
Here is a picture taken at the funeral of my late Tanzanian friend Anthony Isanzu, or Uncle Tony, as he was known. With me are his three surviving children, two grand children and their mom.
By the wishes of his family, Uncle Tony was cremated on the 2nd October 2019 immediately after a funeral service at St Peters Church, Woolwich.
Nearly 500 mourners from the African and the Woolwich community turned up to say farewell to Uncle Tony on his final journey. Everyone from the local pub we used to drink in turned up for the funeral. I gave the eulogy, in which I paid tribute to a man who was generous, kind and compassionate to literally anybody he came across, a very rare human being who did not have a single personal enemy.
Anthony Isanzu was my best friend in the UK, but he was also loved by all. We wish him well wherever he is now. RIP.
Bobby
