MALE CIRCUMCISION- A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

 

 

The cruel, barbaric and totally unnecessary practice of male circumcision  is  a serious and in most cases irreversible harm inflicted on a non-consenting boy-child.

 

Male circumcision removes the prepuce of the male penis. "The prepuce is the primary, erogenous tissue necessary for normal sexual function". By its very intrusive nature,  circumcision causes physical harm as well as serious mental and emotional harm. The  number of circumcised men who commit suicide or lose interest in sex continues to rise alarmingly in many parts of the world, and yet the problem is not being addressed.

Mutilation makes a perfectly  normal organ imperfect by excising or removing parts of it for very  primitive and extremely  stupid cultural and religious reasons. Circumcision is similar to cutting off the thumps or  middle finger from a child's hand, an act that permanently deprives the limb of an essential part.

 

Many European countries have now outlawed both Male and Female Circumcision, declaring both to be serious breaches of the rights of the child, and a crime against humanity. The Netherlands Institute of Human Rights has determined that non-therapeutic circumcision of male children is a human rights offence under several instruments of international law.

 

It is high time the whole world outlawed  non-therapeutic Circumcision in its entirety, for ALL CHILDREN, boys and girls. Adults of sound mind can do what they want with their bodies, but we must not subject children to unnecessary suffering and harm because of stupid and nonsensical religious and cultural beliefs.
