{UAH} HUNTER BIDEN NAMED IN UKRAINIAN INDICTMENT
Hunter Biden named in Ukrainian Indictment
Indictment drawn up a week ago without fanfare
On November 14, the Office of the Prosecutor General issued an indictment against Burisma Holding’s owner Nikolai Zlochevsky. Rada MP Alexander Dubinsky held a press conference today detailing the investigation and outcome that prompted the indictment. The primary charges are for money laundering activity. Dubinsky expressed apparent dismay that, although filed a week ago, this action was apparently ignored by the press.
Dubinsky stated that the money laundering was created to disguise a “pyramid scheme” that was originated by former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovich. He claims that the scheme was continued through the Pyotr Poroshenko presidency, and was performed in concert with the former Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, Valeria Gontareva. According to Dubinsky, “This system is still working under the guidance of the current managerial board of the National Bank, ensuring that money flows in the interest of people who stole millions of dollars, took it offshore and bought Ukrainian public bonds turning them into the Ukrainian sovereign debt.”
The indictment details connections to a US firm with close ties to many high ranking members of the Democratic Party. Ukranian MP Andriy Derkach stated that the $7.4 billion was laundered through Franklin Templeton Investments and used to purchase external government loan bonds. Derkach also claimed, “The son of Templeton’s founder, John Templeton Jr., was one of President Obama’s major campaign donors. Another fund-related character is Thomas Donilon, Managing Director of BlackRock Investment Institute, shareholder Franklin Templeton Investments, which has the largest share in the fund. It is noteworthy that he previously was Obama’s national security advisor.”
Ukranian MPs demand investigation
MP Derkach along with other members of Parliament have demanded that the current Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelensky, and US president Donald Trump begin and immediate investigation into corruption and money laundering by citizens of both nations. “President Zelensky must pick up the phone, dial Trump, ask for help and cooperation in the fight against corruption and fly to Washington. The issue of combating international corruption in Ukraine with the participation of citizens, businessmen and U.S. officials should become a key during the meeting of the two presidents.”
Hunter Biden specifically noted in indictment and investigation
Alexander Dubinsky MP specifically named Hunter Biden, son of former Vice President and current presidential candidate Joe Biden, as a beneficiary and recipient of the ill-gotten money. “Biden received money that did not come from the company’s successful operation but rather from money stolen from citizens,” he stated. According to indictment documents, Hunter Biden along with other Burisma board members collected over $16.5 million dollars of the funds in question. The other named board members are Alexander Kwasniewski, Alan Apter and Devon Archer.
The MP further emphasized that Biden’s contract income specifically demonstrated how money was moved outside of the Ukraine and then used to purchase the external bonds. According to Dubinsky, 40% of Ukraine’s budget is spent to pay these debts. This scheme allowed the money launderers to profit significantly from the high interests rates paid on the loans. Currently, neither president has made any statements regarding the request to open a joint investigation.
