This friend of mine, a journalist, confronts Rubatasirwa Kayibanda about his abduction, illegal detention and brutal torture in Makindye barracks and other ungazetted Rwandan torture chambers for 4 long years. I actually spent time in Makindye myself, but I was fortunate enough to have a sister in London who camped infront of the Uganda embassy for days on end, forcing the British government to act, to get me released.
Millions of victims of Rubatasirwa's tyranny have never been able to tell their stories, and even fewer have directly confronted him as Hudson Apunyo did.
In my case, I will confront the Rwandan thug with a gun. He must have no illusions about my determination to punish him for his brutality and savagery. No Rwandan citizen has a right to vacate his home in Butare Town and travel thousands of miles away to abduct Ugandan citizens and to brutalise and kill them. No sirs. That can not be allowed to happen with impunity. The offender must be punished. That's the ineluctable law of history.
Sometimes back, I beat the president's security and met him in Gulu complaining of illegal detention for four years in Makindye Barracks and Libiri Quarter Guard. The president listened to me but because he was in a hurry, he referred me to then Army Commander Jeje Odongo who failed to help me. I have since then approached several Military leaders for compensation in vain. Am yet to try Gen. Katumba for I will not give up or will seek audience with the president again through any means.
