Deep and solid knowledge of mathematics and programming. Knowledge
preparing for work and research in machine learning, AI and
mathematical modeling. This spring, the registration for the new civil
engineering program in technical mathematics opens, which will start
in autumn 2020.
The transition of society and working life that is currently underway,
with digitalisation and automation, will require strong competence in
mathematics and programming. This is according to Sara Zahedi,
associate professor of mathematics at KTH, one of two program managers
for the new civil engineering program in technical mathematics.
- Those who join this program will have an advantage in the future job
market and easy to get jobs, she says.
Technical mathematics has previously been found at Chalmers and at
Lund University. And if you look at where people with this expertise
work today it is about companies in medical technology, banks and
insurance companies, but also companies like Google, Ericsson and ABB
Robotics, says Sara Zahedi.
