{UAH} “Shun leaders who respect gay rights,” says Pastor Bujjingo in veiled attack on Bobi Wine (VIDEO)

House of Prayer Ministries lead Pastor, Aloysius Bujjingo, has warned his followers against political leaders who respect gay rights.

Although he did not mention him by name, Bujjingo's toldarget, from his comments, was People Power leader, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

"They asked one of the presidential hopefuls in Uganda what he thinks about gays, try to look for his reply. You as a born again, don't just go with any politician. First look out for what these politicians think about the God you serve. The gays are so rich with a lot of power and they can isolate you for not believing in them," Bujjingo said according to a video uploaded on Youtube on December 9.

He made the comments during a service on Sunday, December 8.

Last week, Kyagulanyi told South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) in an interview that although he does not agree with gays, as a leader, he will have the responsibility of guarding the rights of all citizens irrespective of their sexual orientation.

He said according to the Bible in the book of Genesis, after Noah's flood, God put the rainbow in the sky as the sign of His promise that He would never again destroy the earth with flood (Genesis 9:13–17).

Now Bujjingo said that the gays chose this symbol so that whenever God is about to destroy them, He recalls this promise.

"Thank God, otherwise the world would have been destroyed already. They searched in the Bible and saw that the rainbow is a sign that God chose that is why they hold rainbow umbrellas and symbols so that He doesn't destroy them," He added.

The gay rights issue remains a hot potato in Uganda.

In 2014, Parliament approved the anti-homosexuality gay bill and President Museveni assented to it before it was repealed by the Constitutional Court.
