AIGP Dr Steven Kasiima, AIGP Francis Xavier RwengoPresident Museveni who also doubles as the Commander in Chief of armed forces has finalized plans to replace six police Directors whose contracts expired last year with Senior officers from UPDF.
The police directors who are soon getting replaced by army officers include AIGP Stephen Kasima the Director in charge of traffic and road safety, AIGP Erasmus Twaruhukwa head of legal and human rights,Isabirye Haruna police attaché to USA, AIGP Rwego Francis Xavier, AIGP Lemmy Twinomugisha in charge welfare and production and AIGP Joseph Mugisa director Fire and rescue services.
State house sources say the President has finalized the list of UPDF officers who will replace the police directors whose contracts expired last year and will not be renewed.
"The list of UPDF officers to replace police officers was vetted by CMI and ISO and they were later sent to CDF Gen.David Muhoozi who approved them and forwarded the list to President Museveni for final approval, says a security source. The security source however declined to reveal the names of UPDF officers. "It is still early to mention those UPDF officers but what I can assure you the contracts of six police directors will not be renewed," says an insider from state house.
Last year President Museveni replaced four Police directors with Army officers from Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and they include J.A Bakasumba Chief Joint of Staff, Col Christopher Damulira In charge Crime Intelligence, Col Jesse Kamunanwire director Human Source and Brig Godfrey Goloba director Human resource development.
POLICE SPEAKS OUT

Fred Enanga while briefing the media says that the contracts of the six Police directors mentioned above expired last years but their files were sent to President Museveni to determine their fate. "The President who also doubles as the appointing Authority will determine the fate of six police directors whose contracts expired," he says. He added that at the moment they are still in office until President gives an order.
However Enanga says 8 police directors have less than four months on their contracts and they include Asan Kasinggye, Edward Ochom, Grace Turyagumanawe, John Ndugutse, Abas Byakagaba and Moses Balimwoyo. Our insiders in police told us that by end of July all Police directors will be in office illegally.
"The law says when you are left with one year on your contract, it can be renewed and our Directors applied for the renewal of their contracts a year ago and have not received any communication meaning there is possibility of not renewing them," says an official from Legal.
Recently Spyreports broke a story how President Museveni declined to renew the Contracts of police directors and ordered them out of office by end of August this year.
