Newly appointed State Minister for Labor and Industrial Relations, Mwesigwa Rukutana has described President Yoweri Museveni as a superhuman individual whose mind, thinking and physic can only be equated to a person given by God to rule over leaders.

Speaking during a celebration to mark 14 years of Radio Ankole in Ntungamo town on Saturday, Rukutana said President Museveni is growing stronger and can do things better than his younger compatriots, despite his advanced age.

"I want to confirm to you that NRM is still very strong, our chairman is very strong. At age 75 what he does me Rukutana at 60 can't do; even my friends can't do them. Pushups he does, the walking, his brain, his thinking, his speaking. He gives a speech even if he has not written; I have moved with him many times and in many places, this man, he was given to us by God, he is a ruler of leaders," Mr Rukutana said.

Mr Rukutana said there has been a lot of transformation during the tie of NRM leadership despite many challenges and unaccomplished duties but there is still hope that the government shall accomplish many.

"That is why as NRM we resolved that if someone is still working well, the issue of age, that he has overstayed, we put off sight. When you see that I can't distinguish bad from good when you see I am sleeping and that I have no energy, then you can deny me a vote. But when am still working with zeal and more plans to work for you and I still want to work for you, we saw that would not be a right reason- we resolved to amend the age limit. That's the reason the media and opposition have been against us, and it has really been too much," he said.

He appealed to the electorate to exercise a peaceful election that should not return traditional divisions and hatred especially in Ntungamo district based on religion and tribes that will only bring better results not violence.

He cautioned radio users against using bad language, propagating hatred and intolerance for a better and peaceful election.

The Bishop of South Ankole Diocese Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe asked people to use radios and other media as a tool for unity, development, reconciliation and education and information if they want the media to be beneficial to their lives. Several other local leaders attended the function.

Radio Ankole was set up in 2006 based in Ntungamo district and operates in local language Runyankole-Rukiga and IkinyaRwanda reaching parts of Kigezi, Tanzania, Rwanda and the greater Ankole region.
