{UAH} A NOTE ON SURGICAL MASKS

As China battles the coronavirus disease, we need to take a moment and address the shortage of surgical masks in this country. As suppliers double and triple their masks supplies in Canada, the things just keep on being swept off the counter. Here is a clarification, surgical masks do not, I repeat do not, prevent infection of the coronavirus disease, they only control, not even prevent but control, the infection between the infected person and none infected person. It will make more sense to wear a mask if you know, or suspect to be infected, if you are not infected that mask is not going to protect you from infection. Can we please back off surgical masks so that we use them responsibly, than just sweeping them off the shelves as they show up, for we use them as the ante dote of the disease.

 

And can medical aligned people pick up the pace in informing the population about the disease, than just allowing the masses run through ignorance.
