Harvey Weinstein taken to hospital with chest pains, rep says

Harvey Weinstein suffered chest pains following his sentencing and was being taken to Bellevue Hospital, his spokesman said Wednesday evening.

Weinstein will be treated for his “ongoing heart problems” and also be evaluated for “a complication related to his back surgery,” Juda Engelmayer said.

“We are incredibly appreciative of the level of care and attention the NYC Dept. of Corrections is showing regarding Mr. Weinstein’s medical condition,” Engelmayer wrote in an email.

Engelmayer said he that Weinstein would likely be “held overnight for observation.”

Weinstein, 67, had a $2 million bail bond revoked following his Feb. 24 conviction but was taken to Bellvue’s Prison Ward instead of jail when he suffered chest pains after being placed in custody.

He underwent a March 4 angioplasty procedure in which a surgical balloon was inserted into a clogged heart vessel and inflated to improve blood flow, Engelmayer has said.

He was finally transferred to Rikers Island on Thursday and housed in the North Infirmary Command.

Weinstein also underwent back surgery in December to treat pain from crashing his 2017 Jeep into a tree in Westchester County in August.

Weinstein told cops he swerved to avoid a deer, sources told The Post at the time.
