President Yoweri Museveni has hinted on a total lockdown of the nation as Coronovirus hit the 23 mark last night.
The Ministry of Health last night confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 taking the total to 23 cases in Uganda.
In a tweet the ministry said out of 227 samples run today, 222 samples tested negative for COVID-19 with five turning out positive.
Earlier, four more people had tested positive for coronavirus in Uganda.
President Museveni on Friday said the four had been under institutional quarantine
And now the president is strongly considering locking the country with all activity suspended.
The president said: "227 returnees from Dubai and other places were tested, 5 were positive. This brings the number to 23 who are positive.
Although the number is growing, I am still happy to see that the majority of returnees are negative which means they don't have the virus.
However, the worry is that the people who are positive had circulated in the population.
Nevertheless, the medical teams will trace all the contacts and check on them.
We may have to take additional drastic measures. I will keep you informed."
