{UAH} The normal is no more as North America almost shuts down to curtail the spread of CORVID-19

Folks:

For all intentions  and purposes, we are in under mandatory and self imposed lockdown. There is a run on supermarkets.  The NCAA cancelled the much loved march madness college basketball. NBA games suspended indefinitely. Ditto NFL and MLB.

Universities are shutting down. And high schools too. Those who drink are stocking up on their favorite brands.

NETFLIX may be one of the few winners as people have no where to turn as institutions try to minimize social distance.

Interestingly some intellectual theorizing is also underway by way of remote conferencing.  What will be the long term impact of COVID -19 on society? On the economy? On the health care system etc?

Has globalization met its match in COVID-19? Is closing borders and shutting down air travel the best response?

Has the global response created a moral panic and unnecessary fear? 

Could it be that the worst is yet to come etc.? 

 If COVID-19 is so deadly as alleged, how come fatalities are low contrary to the fear mongering?

 

What we have is a perfect example of a self fulfilling prophecy.
