Every year, Gallup polls Americans to name the woman living anywhere in the world they admire most. In December 2019, Gallup revealed Melania Trump is once again one of America’s most admired women.

So, what makes Melania Trump so popular among Americans? Here are some of Melania Trump’s most admirable qualities.

Melania is a dedicated mother to Barron

After becoming president, Donald Trump naturally moved to the White House. However, Melania did not follow him at first. Instead, she continued to live at Trump Tower in New York.

At the time, critics wondered if this meant something ominous about her marriage to Donald. But Melania had a perfectly wholesome reason for sticking around New York: she wanted her son Barron Trump to finish his school year. And she knew that moving him in the middle of the year would be very disruptive.

This showcases that Melania is a dedicated mother who knows how to put her child’s needs ahead of her own, no matter what the critics say.

Melania reassured a boy who spilled water at the White House

Melania Trump’s sympathy for children isn’t limited to Barron Trump. In fact, one incident helps to highlight just how much she is dedicated to helping children.

During a student listening session at the White House in 2018, a young boy knocked over a glass of water onto the rug. Freaking out, he gasped out loud and exclaimed “oof!” His panic was understandable: he had just made a mess in front of the First Lady!

Melania instantly held his shoulders and reassured him it was no big deal.  She told him, “No problem. Don’t worry. It’s just water, okay? No worry at all. It happens.”

Her willingness and ability to defuse an uncomfortable situation is very admirable.
