I need to put a couple of points across on the current situation we have in the city.

 

1} The federal government is improving the  virus relief to the population, I am more concerned to those of us that are self-employed. Remember if you are employed on a pay roll you will be paid depending on how much you made and what you failed to earn. It is complicated to those of us that file the incomes based on the year end, here is the bottom line, if you are in the country apply, for you will be approved. The last number I heard from Ottawa was a minimum of 2,000 dollars a person, if you are self-employed. Apply as soon as the portal is opened up which will be I think next week. It is important you know that it is the responsibility of the government to prove to you why you do not qualify, and you will not get that reason until when you apply. That income as by today is going to be T4ed, now there are sources fighting that so that it does not get taxed, but until we know the conclusion of that mission, consider it a taxed income, at the end of the year a T4 is going to show up to your door.

 

2} When you apply remember that we are all applying the same time, thus this promise of the prime minister of funds are coming up from April the 4^th, don’t count on it too much. Start to plan to see those funds first week of May to be safe. There is  a massive back log on the application system that the Feds have hired 13,000 more people to push it through, so realize that this is not an easy task for money to show up. Service Ontario has been closed effective last night, so very application is on line. Toronto Transit Commission stopped to accept cash on its routes effective midnight last night.

 

3} If you eat Matooke from home, be informed that Ethiopian Airlines has jerked up the cargo prices to a point that it is not making sense to load at these prices. Thus there is no more food from home in stores until when we beat the virus.
