{UAH} UK coronavirus could escalate within DAYS warns PM

Boris Johnson today warned that coronavirus is on the verge of 'significant' escalation in the UK - and the government could take more dramatic action to combat it.

The government is bracing Britons for the virus to spread further and faster after the number of cases in this country hit 40.  

The PM finally waded in to take personal charge of the response by chairing a Cobra emergency committee meeting this morning. 

The session agreed a new 'battle plan', being formally published tomorrow, which could include asking retired doctors and nurses to return to the NHS, urging people to work from home, closing schools, increasing class sizes and cancelling large public events.
