{UAH} Angry MPs turn to Bobi Wine for claiming Shs10Bn ‘is a bribe’ after deal flops, will ‘spoiler’ Karuhanga survive?

Banks can not cash Shs20M into MPs accounts.

Ntungamo Municipality MP Gerald Karuhanga rushed to court earlier this week. Court granted him the ruling he wanted.

His colleagues who had planned their weekend, have to stay back in Kampala.

Banks told speaker Rebecca Kadaga their hands are tied. They can not send cash into individual accounts.

A group of MPs had come out to reveal their were not agreement with the rest.

Mubarak Munyagwa, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), Gerald Karuhanga and Francis Zaake told media they would not take the money.

Bobi Wine in an interview, claimed the money Shs20M was a bribe to MPs and wouldn't associate himself with it.

Kadaga had explained that the money was to facilitate MPs to coordinate the Covid-19 activities in their constituencies.

Butaleja MP James Waluswaka took to the floor of Parliament to attack Bobi Wine for his bribery claims.

He lashed out: "People think that this House can be bribed to carry out its mandate. Hon Kyagulanyi should be asked to explain."

Waluswaka received the backing of Speaker and fellow MPs when it was agree Bobi Wine faces the disciplinary committee to explain himself.

Speaker Kadaga argued: "MP of Kyadondo East Robert Kyagulanyi must face the disciplinary committee for terming the UGX 20millions a bribe, bringing the house to disrepute she says."

It remains to be seen whether Karuhanga who blocked the deal will have it his way.
