Buyaga town council Mayor on run for alleged theft of relief items.
Musa Giduno the lciii chairperson (mayor) buyaga towncouncil in bulambuli district is on run for allegedly stealing relief items meant for the people affected by floods in bukhalu and buyaga Town council.
The relief items which included 500m taplins,jerrycans and blankets where given out last month by the office of the prime minister and Catholic religious society CRS to support homes that where affected by floods in bulambuli however these items were not distributed as expected.
This forced the towncouncil speaker sulaiman asaadi to convene an emergency council sitting planning the distribution of relief which resulted to chaos and exchange of blows.
It's alleged that this evening Giduno in company of the office assistant womochela mudimi stealthly loaded all these items in an ipsum reg number UAM 582k belonging to one John of simu Pondo in however they were intercepted by passer-by who became suspicious as the mayor loaded relief in the night.
On interrogation the mayor reportedly ran away with the driver leaving the vehicle behind
By press time police headed by oc cid bulambuli had impounded the items.
Our reporter established that Buyaga towncouncil was officially receiving a new town clerk madam desilanta lunyolo to replace the embattled cheptoek joram who was transfered to bulambuli towncouncil amidst protest.The handleover was slated for 5th April.
One of the youth leaders in town council told our reporter that the relief were being whisked away so that the new leadership doesn't fine it in stock.
The question is do our leaders serve the interests of the common person or not I leave it for you.
