Day 22 of lockdown in Norway!! Let me rant and rage before we all die away! See, I graduated in 2009, 2 days before MJ died😥, I was so proud of this achievement because foreigners were not so much into education at the time, we all believed it is of no use (seriously, when is the lastime u saw a black professional around here that is not an athlete or artiste!)...bitter facts!! we were only 6 Africans on the whole Campus, 3 were foreign exchange students from Tananzina and Malawi. All good and proud, I started looking for jobs in my field....but when u look like I do in these parts the chances are very slim to none! Anyways after 3 years of applications, rejections and searching, I desperately got a job....any job would do. I had to, as during my brokeness, I met a girl that actually wanted to live with me! I was happy to get the job I did not even read the small prints of the contract, I just signed and started working......giving it my all...working nights since not many wanted them shifts!
About 5 months ago, while talking with a colleague, I found out I earn far far less than those without an education!! Even with my night-shifts, I still earn less than a cleaner, a bus-driver....u name it!! Which meant that for the past 8 years I have been paying back on my student-loan monthly yet I do not get paid back for my education!!!! I thought the shitstem was automatic!! Yooooooooooo.....It felt like a Mike Tyson punch in the nuts, Red hot chilli pepper in the nose and eyes.....like being violated Snoop Doggy-style with Ice Cube singing No Vaseline!!!! No wonder I am always broke because the maths do not add up!! I could not believe it!!!! Someone in HR knew it all along but just let me get screwed!!
Then to this useless and hopeless Labour organisation we pay loads of money to fight for the workers' rights......I believed I had a case, so I called them! Oh me oh my, boy oh boy....they made me walk and call! From here to there to over there then back....sitting in an office with 2 elderly white women that make u think u are speaking Chinese to them!! They stubbonly refuse to understand what u mean and they try to convince u that it is u not understanding and u got no case😳😳😳😳. That shit was hard, hurtful and painful....thinking of where I am now and where I coulda been!! I think I got depressed for 2 days but had to snap out of it quickly.....u don't wanna give them the pleasure of seeing u hurt. Babylon shitstem is a vampire, sucking the blood of the sufferers!! Meeéeeehn they really did a number on me!! Thought hard of moving to another place, but I got children now, I just can't up and leave....stuck in the moment...so I made my peace! Two choices: try a new job or go back to school...but then the Corona came and now we all are in the same boat...click wink wink😉. That said, I am not blaming anyone but me for being naive! I get a few "traumas" now and then, like I got now, hence the rant, but it will all be over someday. Keep ya head up✌🏿
