LETTER FROM NEW YORK.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI, SHOW NORTHERN UGANDA LOVE.

Dear Mr President,
Grace and peace be with you from the Lord Almighty!

I must salute you for one thing, revamping Uganda's economy and building a strong army. I want to thank you for the concerted fights and championing the fights against CORONA virus.

Besides, I want to thank you for ending the war drama in Northern Uganda, that was dogged by ghosts soldiers and profeeteering. The war bedeviled the people in northern and eastern Uganda.

It did not only bedeviled them but subjugated the North and the Eastern people. The conflict caused unprecedented pain on a people who were the breadbasket of the country, economically and otherwise but now the basketcase. Now they are reduced to the poorest in Uganda after once being incarcerated by you in camps for more than 2 decades with everything including culture adulterated and their hopes reduced to mere rambling of motor vehicles engines...whoo...bringing relief food.

Mr President, in the 1970s, you had Acholi comrades in FRONANSA but all died mysteriously. Because they supported you, you enemies, friends or fiends could have killed them. A person like Ladit Okuya Lino, my stepfather and your friend. Many others I may not mention here. Their children are suffering and sleeping hungry.

Mr. President, in Luwero during the war of 1980s, your soldiers made Luwero and going to Kampala hell for northern people. We called going to Kampala " lam dogi" or say your last prayers. Many people died. We believe those skulls displayed in Luwero after war, majority are those who were killed in cold blood.

Yes, you realize that the war, wasn't a war against a foreign country but people of northern Uganda. When you took over power, your boys led by General Kagame etc went and caused havoc in Acholi , Lango and Teso. Remember Mukura incidence of 1989, men being sodomized in Acholi and many incarcerated in Luzira prison without Trial. A reason for opposition, both violent and political.

Mr. President , after your victory in 1986, you instituted a Liberation and heroes' days. These days are for chest thumping for heroism. You called yourselves liberators. To some parts of Uganda, it was Liberation.

But these 2 days polarized the country more, indeed, what you don't know is that the celebration to people in eastern and northern Uganda is seen as a remainder of the worse. Lost of National cake, lost of their children and massive retrenchment based on sectarianism and nepotism.

Even those who play bootlickers are less human beings. Their spirits died long time. Yeah, you realize that during all the elections, you have been loosing in the North not until of late when the people seemed to have given up with unprecedented poverty. People are dreaming for the day you will show remorse and love. They will love you back mr President.

Your Excellency, why I my writing this? I write this because I am quite flabbergasted with what is happening. You realize that, three times, with orders from above, over 3 CORONA virus cases were thwarted by Acholi leaders. I am not saying we shouldn't admit people in Acholi, but constitutionally, all districts have got regional referal hospitals and parliament allocated CORONA fights money to all. Our people are against imported cases. Last month, the victim from Adjumani was ordered to be taken to Gulu, it took the interventions of Gulu leaders and the victim was taken to ENTEBBE where there's isolation center.

Again, over 400 people who traveled from abroad were to be taken to Amuru farm, a journalist made alarm, it was thwarted. The last time is yesterday's case, a truck driver was tested positive, he must have spread the virus in the entire Eastern and northern Uganda.

He traveled from Malaba to kamdini, with order from above, the sick guy was to be admitted to Gulu. We are not sure if he has not infected people in Gulu. With a violent reaction from the people and their leaders, road blocks were wedged and they threatened mother of all wars. It was averted to Kampala.

Mr President, 2 decades of war, being denied national cake and experiencing such uncertainties and misjudgments from you and orders relating to pandemic. Remember, todate, the same mistakes you made saw the war destroy Acholi, Lango and Teso. The leaders wanted peace talks but you opted for war on children abducted, you failed to protect them. Over 30.000 were abducted and made sex slaves. More than 1.8 million people were herded in camps like animals.

Mr. President, these people suffered Ebola in 2001 at a time they were in camps. It would have wiped them. Like the CORONA virus you were about to let it go to Gulu, Ebola was imported like that.

Later, our children are dying of a disease we don't know, called nodding disease worse than CORONA. You realize CORONA has registered 55 victims with no deaths. But the country is in lockdown. But for your information, hundreds of Acholi and Lango children are sick and sadly nodding to death but no serious interventions from government.

Mr President, I write this as a child who was 8 years when you became president and saw everything. Yes, I saw culture and everything destroyed. We needed a reparation law to reconstruct the region but it's far fetched.

Finally, Mr President, what was your reaction when you saw a young Acholi boy, of about 20 years, beating his old grandmother? By any cultural standard its abomination. But it's a daily thing, thanks to the war that watered culture and caused trauma and desperation. Many ask, does Museveni loves us? Show us love.
