{UAH} What is President Trump trying to achieve by calling for "resistance" to lock down in times of pandemics?

Long before this crisis hit, the White House was in chaos. Those who were fired by Trump explained what life was like trying to deal with him. They said Trump was most influenced by the last adviser he talked to in a day. In other words, he would not or could not integrate the advice of several advisers he had seen sequentially.

Fauci described (in an interview with Science Magazine) why Trump seemed to contradict expert advice during his press conferences. The team of health experts would meet with Trump in the morning and give him their consensus appraisal of the situation. Trump would nod in agreement. Then, one of his staff, taking notes would write a speech. Trump would approve the speech.

But during the news conference, he would ignore much of what was written and ad-lib, making things up.

In other words, Trump is impulsive and undisciplined. He cannot reconcile the dilemma he faces with the pandemic, namely mitigating the spread of the virus with minimizing the economic impact. Unable to solve the problem or cope with it, he impulsively flip-flops. His call for resistance is just another example of that.

Much has been written about Trump having the mind and temperament of a toddler.
