The current generation' s needs are unsustainable if he has to keep buying them off.And how many can he kill in order to make a statement?That Zaake is able to withstand such immense torture and still refuse to cow means that there are many more.What is missing is an ignition to set off irreversible chain of events that may burn up UGANDA.Allan--On Sun, May 3, 2020, 4:25 PM Simon Okurut <sspokurut@gmail.com> wrote:Allan,--That sounds true Museveni methods, recruitment by force if all other means fail.For instance, when he usurped power in 1986,he made so many arrests, torture and imprisonment of many prominent UPC supporters.Former ministers like Ben Etonu were arrested, tortured and jailed in Moroto, when they were released, they later joined NRM and they became "good Ugandans" and mzee rebounded to politics. Others were enslaved in Kiburura, Nabisojo etc where worked in slave and indentured servant's like conditions. Many joined NRM after release but many returned sick and died after.
People especially educated ones need to be pursuaded ideologically. Put in place good policies, exercise transparency and merit and you have a large following. But it is a hard sell for governments that have been in power for long. Along the many years they get lost and often take things for granted. Politics requires daily renewal, what worked 5 years ago does not necessarily work now, then imagine using methods of 35 or 40 years ago, so many years before some current legislators like Zaake were born.I might be wrong but I think only dull and dense people can be very comfortable with methods of 1990s!Peter SimonPeter Simon

Zaake's consistent torture is coordinated from the NRM command centre. He is one of their most targeted MPs since he joined parliament.
While discussing the most tortured MPs, one cannot leave out the name Zaake Francis Butebi. The Mityana legislator's long walk to national politics began in 2016 when he was still the serving Guild president of Ndejje University, Kampala.
Being a resilient and composed fearless leader, Zaake easily shot up to the national scene as a record maker when he became the tenth parliament's youngest MP by then aged 25. The young university graduate massively won the Buganda region NRM hotspot as an independent candidate. He combined the FDC, NRM and DP which had fronted prominent politicians for that seat in the 2016 elections. The youngster's victory was alluded to his gentle personality and family strength. Mityana locals largely celebrate the generosity of the Butebi family from which Zaake hails.
ORIGN OF MUSEVENI'S FREUD's ON ZAAKE;
Museveni mastered the art of manipulation of politicians. Being a young legislator, Museveni thought it would be easy for him to trap Zaake with all sorts of favours. Sources say, Museveni laboured to lure the youngster to his side but all this didn't go as planned. When Zaake was a year later in 2017 joined by the fresh Kyadondo East MP elect, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, a lyrical assassin who shot two historical bigwigs backed by Museveni and Besigye respectively, Museveni's dream of trapping him shattered. Zaake found it easy to relate with Bobi Wine because they ideologically intertwined. Their outspokenness and contestation of the unpopular age limit bill is what endeared them to the bitter Uganda populace opposed to Museveni's prolonged rule. The two generational leaders (Bobi and Zaake) would then formulate their own movement which they curved out of article one of the 1995 Uganda constitution which says power belongs to the people. They combined forces to blow life into the new People Power movement which became a stumbling block to Museveni after sweeping all by elections in Rukungiri, Jinja East, Bugiri and Arua respectively. The Arua byelection will never phase out of Zaake's memory. It is at this point in 2018 that he nearly lost his life when soldiers attached to the president's Special Forces Command beat him to pulp. Museveni used this election as an opportunity to get rid of the two youngster politicians. But by God's mercy, the duo survived a well coordinated assassination.
MUSEVENI PLANTS HIS SON MUHOOZI IN MITIYANA.
When Zaake turned out to be a cat which is not easy to get rid of, Museveni opted to deploy his son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba to study the political terrain of Mityana. The first son deployed soldiers and camped them at the Mityana gombolola grounds to monitor Zaake who was rapidly becoming a small god in Mityana. Muhoozi would later identify a one Luzzi Abraham, a Mityana resident of Rwandan origin. He grooms and funds this gentleman to help him combat Zaake on the coming 2021 race but things are not working out. Mityana residents seem to have a great deal of resentment towards Luzzi due to his bad character of molestation of school going teens and on the other hand his fraudulent background and alcoholic behaviour. The state knows that Zaake still has a bright political future and this implies Mityana could be hard to recover. So the only way to have Mityana back very fast is by keeping Zaake in spineless legal battles. For the recent arrest, we earlier reported how it was a coordinated trap hatched by Muhoozi through his puppet, Luzzi Abraham and the RDC Isha Ntumwa.
