{UAH} Forwarded : MUSEVENI USED AND DUMPED KATIKIRO MAYIGA

The writing is on the wall that Katikiro Mayiga's days at Bulange are numbered.  Used and dejected.

Mayiga rose from obscurity of a partner in the non performing Buwule and Bayiga law firm to the coveted position of the Katikiro.

Mayiga was Museveni's compromise Katikiro at the height of the Mengo/ Museveni feud that ended in the Kabaka riots of 2009 and subsequent sacking of Eng Walusimbi as Katikiro.

Museveni used Mayiga to pacify Mengo.

First he influenced change of strategy in Mengo from confrotantion to collaboration with Museveni.

He personally negotiated the 2009 Memorundum between Mengo and central government that paved the way to payments of billions from government coffers and return of several properties confiscated by Obote in 1966.

Mayiga cleaned Mengo of opposition radicals like Nambooze, and Semujju Nganda.

He limited Besigye platform in Mengo and directed that  Buganda radio CBS closes out on  anti Museveni  rhetoric.

Having surrounded the Kabaka and sedated him, he took firm control of Mengo cleaning it of all anti Museveni persons in Lukiiko and in politics.

He found suitable ploy to hood wink Baganda from Museveni failings in the Etoofali project , collecting billions from unsuspecting Baganda.

Luck would be on Mayiga side in fundraising for the reconstruction of Masiro. He collected billions largely unaccounted for to this day.

In return to his service to Museveni,  Mayiga got good pay. He got billions in hard cash. He got 3 brand new top of the range Toyota suvs and a convoy .

He was given presidential guards. 

He negotiated for his and his ministers monthly pay from central government. He carries home Shillings 30 M per month from government coffers.

Having become an instant millionaire   he  established a TV station  BBS . BBS is Mayiga personal project. He then begun construction of his dream palace home  in Lweza sitting on 37 acres.

Mayiga presided over the biggest land grabbing of Kabaka land, fencing off thousands of acres, at one point narrowly surviving death in Luwero from machete wielding peasants.

At Mengo, Mayiga would proceed to stop agitation for Federo.  Glaringly stating you have to survive before Federo and that Baganda do not eat Federo.

He ensured those that fall out with Museveni do not use Mengo as platform. Besigye, Muntu and Sejusa would fall victim. Mayiga surprised the nation when he warned Sejusa from starting another war in Buganda.

At the height of his power, he was a regular visitor in State house, consulting with Museveni on his every step.

It can safely be said that at Mengo, Mayiga reversed the anti Museveni momentum . Mayiga's tenure also breathed new life into the Museveni regime keeping it out of turbulence for now 7 years.

Having squeezed juice out of him and with growing dissent at Mengo  Museveni and Kabaka have finally DUMPED Mayiga.

At his weakest it would be a miracle for Mayiga to fight back.

Watching Mayiga speak at an impromptu organised media event 10 days ago, Mayiga exhibited all signs of a  broken and dejected man.

He found solace in attacking government over its handling of People power activists. Many wondered Mayiga's new found love with the opposition out fit.

For the first time in 7 years he ressurected Buganda's forgotten  demand for federo. But where has Mayiga been on Federo for 8 years.

He did not spare his Kabaka. Unusual of him, he said Kabaka can be used by anyone. Wait a minute is this the Mayiga who constantly reminded all  Baganda that Kabaka can never be undermined in any way?

He went on to feud with Gashumba, Tamale Mirundi, his Ministers Mpanga and Makubuya crying foul and treachery.

Rest Peter Mayiga,   Rest. That's the price of collaboration with a dictator and treachery of the values that catapulted you into Bulange's top seat.
